Mike Towle

Mike Towle grew up in Vermont and has followed the Red Sox since he was nine. He began sports writing professionally when he was a high school sophomore (also playing shortstop for his high school baseball team), writing for the St. Albans (VT) Messenger and the Vermont Sunday News. A Notre Dame grad and former Army officer, he has worked as a sports reporter for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, The National, and the Nashville Tennessean, along the way covering the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys, among other beats. He has also written extensively for several golf publications, The Sporting News, and yahoo.com. Towle has authored more than 15 books, including works on Pete Rose, Ben Hogan, Pat Tillman, Pat Summitt, and Walter Payton.
