Boston Red Sox fans have known the hilarity and excitement of being a Payton Tolle fan for two years. As he grew into one of the best rookie pitchers in the league, more baseball fans learned of his all-time personality.

Even more fans will meet him during the World Series. Tolle has been named a World Series media correspondent for media day and Game 1 on October 23. Tolle will appear on MLB Network and MLB social channels to describe the Fall Classic atmosphere and Game 1 from a player's perspective, according to Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald.

Tolle has had many viral interview and in-game moments that have helped him establish himself as one of baseball's most lovable characters. From hugging the Seattle Mariners' Dominic Canzone to get him out to doing a push up after a stumble on the mound, Tolle has a proven history of bringing laughs.

It also helps that he knows how to pitch. Tolle posted a 3.03 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, 171 strikeouts and 40 walks over 148.2 innings this year, his rookie season. He won't land in the Rookie of the Year conversation with stars like Kevin McGonigle, Munetaka Murakami and Chase DeLauter standing in his way, but Red Sox fans give him the credit he deserves.

Tolle is a natural on the mic during interviews when he's the subject, but it'll be interesting to see him take his talents to television, on the other side of the interaction. Maybe he has a future on the screen when he's done playing baseball (hopefully a long, long time from now).

Tolle's personality has already earned him some friends in unexpected places. The massive lefty has become famous for his mustache and resemblance to actor Nick Offerman, known for his performance in many shows and films including "Parks and Recreation" and "The Last of Us." Tolle and Offerman recently had an entertaining exchange over social media about their similar appearances, which had Sox fans laughing.

During the World Series, Tolle will get to chop it up with some of baseball's biggest stars and underrated names from the two clubs playing. Hopefully, his correspondent gig is successful enough that MLB invites him back for future events. Red Sox fans can't get enough Tolle in their lives — on and off the mound — and many more baseball fans are about to learn why.
