Boston Red Sox fans are still reeling from the news that Triston Casas is likely out for the season. After rupturing his patellar tendon on a play at first while trying to beat out a ground ball, the Red Sox's plans for first base have been turned on their heads. As for their matchup Saturday against the Twins, the weather has created it's own disruption up in Boston.
Rain is causing havoc across the league on Saturday as the eastern half of the US is being blanketed by storms all over the place. Sadly, Boston is among the areas getting hit and the Red Sox-Twins game is officially in a rain delay after getting through six innings with Boston down 4-1.

There are games out there in the league right now that have basically no chance of being played, but there is a pretty decent chance that a weather window will open up today to get this game finished. No one wants to play a doubleheader on a getaway day and with the chances of rain going into the evening hovering around 50%, it seems like the storm system is broken up enough to hopefully clear up at some point. Thankfully, there is a bit of a time buffer given that this was an afternoon game.
If the weather doesn't move out or the field gets trashed, that is less than great news for Boston as they are trailing and the game has already gone more than five innings. If they decide the weather isn't leaving, the Red Sox will lose the game on the spot.
This post will be updated as more information becomes available as to when this game will start as well as what the weather is up to. Hopefully the weather clears up and we can get this game in.
