Jarren Duran hits home run right into Matt Barnes’ glove in the Red Sox bullpen

After a struggle-filled weekend in Kansas City, Jarren Duran came up clutch for the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night, with one of the most epic home runs of the season.

This wasn’t your run-of-the-mill homer. For one thing, it was a go-ahead blast against the defending World Series champion Atlanta Braves. And it wasn’t just that Duran was due for a big hit, either. What made this shot so epic was where and how it landed.

As Matt Barnes stood in the Sox bullpen warming for the next inning, he turned to watch Duran’s third home run of the year, which soared into the air and then dropped… right into his glove.

This was the fifth home run of Duran’s career, and while he doesn’t hit them often, it’s worth noting that four of the five were go-ahead blasts. If he can continue building on that clutch factor, he could be a dangerous weapon for the Sox.

Unfortunately, Barnes allowed the tying run when he entered the game in the sixth, and Alex Cora pulled him with runners on.

Or maybe, he was just setting things up for Duran to go ahead again.
