Go Blue Jays! Go Sox! Go Orioles! Boston Still Has a Chance To Spoil New York’s Party.

I have a bumper sticker that actually is not on my bumper because I like my life and in the road rage era in which we live I just don’t feel like getting into it with strangers. The bumper sticker isn’t original but it does succinctly encapsulate one of my life’s most important credos. It reads, “I support two teams: the Red Sox and whoever beats the Yankees.” For me that means this weekend I’ll become the Toronto Blue Jays’ biggest fan.

The Yankees will be finishing a four game set at the Rogers Centre over the weekend while the Sox and Orioles beat one another up in Baltimore.

"It’s difficult for me to root against the Sox but given the dire circumstances – the specter of the Yankees winning another division championship – this one is a no brainer. Go Birds!"

Besides which, I get to switch my allegiance on Monday back to Boston since The Old Twone Team  can truly take matters into their own hands and torture an ancient foe . If Boston can man up and stick it to the Yankees in The Bronx while Baltimore takes cares of business with the pesky Tampa Bay Rays at the ever homely Tropicana Field, the AL East could be in for a wild six days and another photo finish.

After the 2012 season Boston has had, it’s all a Red Sox fan has left.

It’s my party, and I’ll cry if I want to
Cry if I want to, cry if I want to
You would cry too if it happened to you
