This time of year taxes my ability to keep up with the amount of information flying around regarding basically every team in Major League Baseball. For some teams, this is their World Series moment, this is the moment that gives fans hope that maybe this will be our year.

Some teams are only a few moves away from really making a jump in the standings and others are laying a good foundation for a run later on.

Here is a quick run down of some of the happenings going on around MLB:

The Red Sox have a Thursday meeting scheduled with Scott Boras to discuss free agents Adrian Beltre (3B) and Jayson Werth (OF)

The Red Sox also made their pitch to Carl Crawford (OF) in Houston.

Troy Tulowitzki (SS) signed a massive 7 year, $134 million contract to remain with the Rockies.

The Rockies are also in discussions to possibly sign Lance Berkman (1B/OF) and Troy Glaus (1B)

Depending on who you talk to, the A’s did or did not meet with free agent Adam Dunn (OF)

The Astros avoided taking Nelson Figueroa to arbitration by signing him to a 1 year, $900,000 contract.

Wily Mo Pena (OF) has signed a minor league deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Sources say the Mets are “Closing in on a deal” for former Padre pitcher Chris Young.

The Rangers have met with Cliff Lee (P) a second time.

Rafael Soriano (P) is rumored to be courted by the Angels to fill their void at closer.

The Rockies have resigned Jorge de la Rosa (P) to a 2 year, $21.5 million contract with a player option for a third year.

The Padres have decided not to tender a contracts to Tony Gywnn (OF) and Jerry Hairston (OF) making them both free agents.

Trading for Zack Greinke (P) is a possibility should the Yankees lose out on Cliff Lee. Greinke would need to waive his no trade clause and there are conflicting reports on whether he’d be willing to do so.

The Dodgers are entertaining the idea of bringing in Jason Varitek (C) and Johnny Damon (OF).

Paul Konerko (1B) has been offered what sources call a “significant” contract by Baltimore.

Ryan Theriot (Inf) has been traded from the Dodgers to the Cardinals for Blake Hawksworth (P).

Miguel Tejada (3B) has agreed to a 1 year, $6.5 million contract with the Giants.

The Pirates have signed one time super prospect Andy Marte (3B) to a minor league deal.

Jamie Moyer (P) underwent successful Tommy John surgery and will miss the entire 2011 season.

Word out of New York is that the talks with Derek Jeter (SS) seem to be progressing.

The Dodgers signed Juan Uribe (2B) to a 3 year, $21 million contract.

Dustin Pedroia told WEEI today that his injured foot is near 100% healed.

Alexei Ramirez (SS) has opted out of his contract with the White Sox, a move which will force them to pick up his option resulting in a $1.4 million raise next season.
