Blaze Jordan has been one of the best stories of the 2025 season in the Boston Red Sox minor league system.

The 2020 third-round draft pick had been on an absolute tear in Double-A this year, and he maintained it after his promotion to Triple-A on June 1. Jordan's slashing .318/.397/.521 with 18 doubles and seven home runs between the Sea Dogs and the WooSox. He's driven in 43 runs, scored 39 more, and stolen three bases.

The Mississippi product has 19 walks compared to just 17 strikeouts. He had 18 walks in the entire 2024 season. That's a huge development. Meanwhile, thanks to improved conditioning, Jordan has also become a phenomenal defensive first baseman.

Jordan had 740 plate appearances in Double-A before his recent promotion. There was nothing left for him to prove there, but Jordan didn't question the Red Sox organization's thinking. He instead remained focused on himself.

Despite being only 22, Jordan had more experience at the Double-A level than most on the Portland roster. He has the opportunity to help players acclimate to the level and lead the team both on and off the field.

"I've been here for about two-and-a-half years now. We've got a really young group, and I feel like you have to get after it. I'm not a very vocal guy, but I feel like the best I can do is go out there and play the game the right way," Jordan said. "Go play my heart out every night, run the bases the right way, give my best every day, and play the game hard and the right way.

"I definitely feel a lot older than I am. I am probably younger than a majority of the guys, but it comes with the experience. Hopefully, once I get to Triple-A, I'll be able to learn from those guys, even if they're younger or the same age as me.

"It doesn't matter your age. It's just about the experience."

Jordan has already started learning from the players in Triple-A and may evolve into a leader there himself in due time. He wasn't sour about spending so much time in Double-A. Instead, he continued to learn more and happily taught his less experienced teammates.

Jordan is having a resurgence year and becoming a legitimate prospect once again. The Red Sox should be happy with his performance on the field and his attitude off it.
