The Boston Red Sox have a couple of pairs of brothers in their system. Drew Ehrhard and his younger brother Zach Ehrhard are both in Double-A. Zach hit a two-run home run on July 22, and Drew went 1-for-3.

They were not the brotherly duo to make the biggest waves that night, though.

Jhostynxon Garcia went 3-for-4 with an HBP, two home runs, and four RBI in Triple-A. The 22-year-old right-handed hitting outfielder is slashing .300/.379/.553 with six doubles, two triples, and 11 home runs since being promoted to Worcester. He's driven in 31 runs and scored 31 more at the level.

Literal seconds after Jhostynxon hit his second home run of the game, his younger brother Johanfran Garcia hit a walk-off home run in High-A.

The 20-year-old right-handed hitting catcher was actually the more coveted of the two prospects heading into the 2024 season. Johanfran was off to a great start in Single-A (on the same team as his brother), but a torn ACL ended his season after just 14 games (he was slashing .385/.467/.596 at the time).

The younger brother missed a year of action, and when he returned to affiliated ball, it was to make his High-A debut. Johanfran took a moment to find his footing, but he has looked much more comfortable at the plate recently. He's slashing .247/.344/.351 with two doubles and two home runs in 21 games for Greenville. He's driven in nine runs and scored 11 more at the level.

Johanfran was the bigger name in the Sox's farm system entering last season, before his injury set him back. Meanwhile, Jhostynxon took off, going from Single-A to Double-A in 2024. He's made his way to Triple-A in 2025 and hasn't stopped mashing. The older Garcia brother is now a top-100 prospect in baseball.

Johanfran is still an intriguing prospect, especially at the catcher position, which is weak for the Red Sox organization. It was easy to envision the two going through the levels of the minor leagues together before Johanfran's injury. Now, they are on different timelines.

There's still a world where we get to see the two in Boston uniforms together. Jhostynxon's name has been thrown around in trade talks for the Red Sox, though. That could put a wrench in those plans.

While neither is at Fenway right now, this was a cool moment of connection for the brothers. For one night in 2025, the Garcias got to electrify Red Sox fans at nearly the same moment.
