On May 18, the Boston Red Sox promoted outfield prospect Jhostynxon Garcia to Triple-A and outfielder Zach Ehrhard to Double-A, according to Andrew Parker of Beyond the Monster.
Garcia spent the first 33 games of the season in Double-A. The right-handed hitter is slashing .256/.355/.393 with five doubles, one triple, and three home runs in 117 at-bats. He's driven in 17 runs, scored 19 more, and stolen four bases.
The 22-year-old has a vastly improved walk percentage compared to last season. In 2024, Garcia walked just 7.2% of the time (33 walks in 459 plate appearances). He has 18 walks in 138 plate appearances in 2025 for a 13% walk rate.
Garcia saw a massive rise in 2024, when he started the year in Single-A and finished in Double-A. His ascent continues.

Ehrhard was a fourth-round draft pick in 2024. The right-handed hitting outfielder is enjoying a ridiculous breakout campaign in High-A.
Ehrhard is slashing .342/.471/.459 with 10 doubles and one home run. That is not a joke. He's driven in 22 runs, scored 24 more, and stolen seven bases (in seven attempts). The 22-year-old has 26 walks compared to 27 strikeouts.
Ehrhard recently lost a 13-game hitting streak and is already on a new four-game run. High-A simply wasn't a challenge for him anymore. The move was necessary for a bit, now.
The Red Sox have a very good problem right now. There are too many good players in their system, creating logjams all over the place. Expect to see more promotions in the near future, but also don't be surprised if some players deserving of a move up have to wait a bit due to there not being room for them at the next level.
Ehrhard gets to join his older brother, Drew, in Double-A. Meanwhile, Garcia joins top prospects Roman Anthony and Marcelo Mayer in Triple-A to create an exciting (and dangerous) trio in Worcester. Red Sox fans need not dwell on an impending call-up to the big leagues for Anthony, though. The WooSox's roster has enough room to include Garcia without shipping the top prospect to the majors. Anthony's moment will come soon enough, especially if Boston's offense stays as sluggish as it's been.
