One of the largest issues the Boston Red Sox need to address this offseason is the same issue that has been plaguing them for two years: the outfield logjam. The Red Sox have four everyday outfielders, plus bench outfielders on their roster. It's an unsustainable approach to roster building, and everyone knows it.

This offseason seems like the time that Craig Breslow is finally going to address that, and now it's all about finding a trade partner. Of course, the trade partner will be determined by who the Red Sox decide to move on from, but one suitor has emerged who could have an answer for any of their outfielders they want to move.

According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, the Miami Marlins are looking to add in the corners this offseason, infield and outfield. The Red Sox could absolutely have an answer for them in the corner outfield.

Jarren Duran is going to have another offseason full of trade speculation, especially coming off the worst season of his career. Wilyer Abreu is also going to have his name tossed around as the Red Sox look for impact upgrades without a deep farm system to poach from. While the two have widely different values, the Marlins could have a place for either.

One position that is never scarce for the Fish is starting pitcher. They constantly have a surplus of major league talent they are willing to trade away, with highly touted prospects ready to take their place. That, once again, applies to them this offseason.

The Red Sox and Marlins are a perfect match for a win-win trade this offseason

While Sandy Alcantara and Eury Perez are likely off the table this offseason, the Marlins do have Max Meyer, a 27-year-old with three years of service time, coming off a breakout season, though he only pitched 111 innings. He could easily be an Abreu trade match, giving the Red Sox another high-upside controllable starter.

If the Marlins prefer Duran, the Red Sox could pivot to a lower-level starter. Either a prospect more in the middle of their top-30 or an older vet with team control could be an option. Whichever they choose, it would be beneficial for both sides.

The Marlins have top prospect LHP Thomas White waiting in the wings, likely to get his MLB debut next season. The 22-year-old is MLB Pipeline's No. 47 prospect and No. 4 LHP prospect. Miami should jump at the chance to clear a runway for him while also upgrading its outfield in the process.

The Red Sox should be looking to add pitching no matter what level. They traded all of their depth last offseason and need to rebuild it. They can do that by either adding to the major league rotation and pushing everyone else down a spot, or adding a depth piece with upside. Even if the main add this offseason needs to be on the offense, they can't overlook the pitching side to do so.

The Marlins and Red Sox could be perfect trade partners. The Red Sox have what the Marlins need, and the Marlins can help fill a position to which the Red Sox should be adding. It feels like too good a match to pass up.
