Boston Red Sox die-hards had their Thanksgiving plans interrupted by rumors early. A surge of rumors, which began Nov. 28, took Red Sox Nation by storm and has convinced a fair few fans that Juan Soto is destined for Boston.

MLB is on the edge of its seat waiting for Soto to sign the megadeal he's reportedly coveting, and Sox fans are desperate for pretty much any moves from the front office. That combination has led to a slew of unconfirmed rumors about the outfielder's future in Boston.

Reports that Soto and the Red Sox have entered a verbal agreement on a decade-plus deal gained serious steam on social media on Thursday. They prompted MLB insider Jeff Passan to refute the stories and confirm that the 26-year-old remains unsigned.

But the rumors didn't stop at Soto alone. It was also reported that the slugger's older sister scheduled multiple apartment tours in Boston. She's never followed Soto from team to team before, so fans have speculated that she's touring the apartments for her brother.

Multiple unconfirmed Juan Soto reports thrill Red Sox fans over Thanksgiving weekend

Again, none of these reports have been confirmed by the Red Sox organization or other Boston media. After the rumors of the holiday weekend, the usual sources continue to report what Sox fans already know — the Red Sox are finalists in the Soto sweepstakes, and the star is expected to sign around the time of Winter Meetings, which run from Dec. 9-12 this year.

If Soto has a verbal agreement with the Red Sox organization, it's hard to believe both sides could suppress the news for this long. It's been days since statements of his commitment to Boston began on Nov. 28, and nothing from reporters and insiders suggests his market or free agent status has changed.
