The hype around the absurd level of talent in the Boston Red Sox farm system is getting loud. That exact sentiment was highlighted on June 5 when minor league monthly awards were handed out.

Three Boston prospects won Player of the Month awards for May in their respective leagues. Blaze Jordan won the Eastern League Player of the Month in Double-A, Franklin Arias won the South Atlantic League Player of the Month in High-A, and Freili Encarnacion won the Carolina League Player of the Month in Single-A.

Jordan slashed .390/.490/.671 with five doubles and six home runs in May. The right-handed hitting first/third baseman drove in 24 runs, scored 18 more, and stole three bases. He walked more times (14) than he struck out (11).

Arias slashed .404/.438/.576 with nine doubles, one triple, and two home runs in May. The righty shortstop drove in 19 runs, scored 14 more, and stole three bases. He walked six times compared to just seven strikeouts.

Encarnacion slashed .333/.402/.655 with seven doubles and seven home runs in May. The right-handed hitting infielder drove in 15 runs, scored 20 more, and stole four bases with seven walks and 16 strikeouts.

All three dominated last month from start to finish. Their performances in May helped dispel the complaint that there aren't enough right-handed hitting prospects in the system.

The ironic part of the announcement is that two of those players don't even play in those leagues anymore. Jordan was promoted to Triple-A, and Encarnacion was promoted to High-A.

Arias is still crushing in June and is riding a 14-game hitting streak entering June 5. However, it might be difficult for him to repeat for the award. It's not wild to assume that Arias could be promoted by the middle of the month, cutting off his chances.

Jordan is off to a hot start in Triple-A (3-for-8 with two doubles and a home run). He's already a candidate to win the International League Player of the Month for June.

The Red Sox's farm system is ridiculously loaded with talent. May was a perfect reminder of just that.
