Baseball America has released a new top 100 prospect ranking in the wake of the MLB Draft. The Boston Red Sox have contributed a new face to the list.

The Red Sox drafted Texas A&M outfielder Braden Montgomery with the 12th overall pick in this year's draft, and by all accounts, he's a steal. Montgomery came in at No. 63 in the rankings, and Baseball America made sure to mention his cannon of an arm.

Montgomery was a switch hitter in college but has better success from the left side. He batted .322/.454/.733 with 27 homers and 85 RBI during his season with the Aggies.

The Red Sox's usual suspects also appear on the top 100 list. Marcelo Mayer, Roman Anthony, Kyle Teel and Kristian Campbell, who made the cut for the first time last month, all cracked the top 100 in that order. The Sea Dogs are well-represented among baseball's brightest up-and-coming stars.

Mayer came in at No. 10 of 100. He's posted a standout season in Double-A, and reports have surfaced that a promotion is coming for the young shortstop. He's slashing .306/.371/.481 with a .852 OPS in 74 games. He owns the Eastern League lead in doubles with 27 and holds second in extra-base hits. Mayer earned his second All-Star Futures Game nod alongside Teel this year.

Anthony ranks at No. 18 on Baseball America's list. He missed out on the All-Star Futures Game itself, but he took home the win in the inaugural Skills Competition. Anthony is batting .244/.348/.453 with a .801 OPS through 69 games with Portland this season.

Red Sox boast five prospects on Baseball America's top 100 list

Teel clocked in as the No. 31 prospect in MLB and is expected to be promoted to Triple-A around the same time as Mayer. The catcher is batting .305/.391/.470 and is tied for the third-most RBI in the Eastern League with 51.

The 22-year-old Campbell has made a statement this season and forced himself onto the top prospect list in the 99 spot. Campbell was promoted from High-A to Double-A after 40 games this season, and somehow he got even better at the next level. He's slashing .395/.497/.597 with a 1.094 OPS through 35 games with the Sea Dogs.

The Red Sox organization had another representative on BA's top 100 list, but he was removed due to a season-ending injury. Sea Dogs pitcher Luis Perales ranked at No. 57 on the previous edition of the list — if he were healthy, the Red Sox might have had six representatives this time around.

Regardless, Boston's up-and-coming talent has it set up for the future. Red Sox Nation likely won't see any of the names in the top-100 list in the big leagues for at least another season, but it'll be exciting to watch the organization's brightest talents work their way to the majors.
