Red Sox vs. Padres prediction and odds for Sunday, May 21
No offense in the American League has been as hot as the Boston Red Sox in the month of May, but can their offense overcome a Corey Kluber start on Sunday against the Padres?
Kluber, who has been atrocious to start the year, will face-off against Michael Wacha of San Diego.
Let's dive into the odds for today's game and then I'll give you my best bet.
Red Sox vs. Padres odds, run line, and total
Red Sox vs. Padres prediction and pick
As much as Red Sox fans may be tempted to take Boston as an underdog in this game, I'd recommend taking the OVER instead.
There's no doubting the Red Sox offensive capability. They rank second in the Majors in OPS in the month of May and are averaging the third most runs per game this season at 5.61.
But, as I wrote in my intro, I'm not confident it will be enough to overcome yet another bad Kluber start. Corey Kluber has a 6.41 ERA and a 1.475 WHIP through his first eight starts. Also, the full game OVER has cashed in seven of his eight starts this season. I bet it will cash again today.
I don't trust Michael Wacha of the Padres much either, especially against Boston's bats. His 4.06 ERA is nothing to write home about and he has had some tough starts this season.
Let's sit back and root for runs in this interleague series finale.
