Red Sox Schedule 2024: Start times for Opening Day, home opener, featured games

Major League Baseball released the entire slate of start times for 2024 recently as we prepare for another exciting season. FOX and ESPN also released games they will be featuring on their broadcasts.

Spring Training is right around the corner and fans will begin making their plans to see their Boston Red Sox attempt for better results after back-to-back horrible campaigns.

Spring games will begin on February 23 at JetBlue Park in Fort Meyers, Florida. The Sox will take on the Northeastern Huskies in their first game at 1:05 PM EST. Fans can buy tickets here.

Important dates from the Red Sox 2024 regular season schedule

The Dodgers and Padres will begin the 2024 regular season in Seoul, which will mark the first-ever MLB game in South Korea, on Wednesday, March 20 and Thursday, March 21, with both games beginning at 7:05 PM (local)/12:05 AM EST/3:05 AM PST on ESPN. Traditional Opening Day, featuring all 30 Major League Clubs, will take place the week after on Thursday, March 28.

Opening Day

The Red Sox will begin their 2024 campaign on the road in Seattle as they take on the Mariners in a four-game series. Game 1 will take place on Thursday, March 28 at 10:10 PM EST.

Home Opener

The first game at Fenway is set for April 9 as the reigning AL East champion Orioles come to town. This will be Boston fans' first chance at getting to see newly-acquired Vaughn Grissom on the field in person. This is also the first game of a 10-game homestand for the Red Sox.

Red Sox and Yankees matchups

The two AL East rivals won't meet until mid-June as Boston welcomes New York in for a three-game series beginning on June 14 at 7:10 PM EST. They will match up again July 5-7 in the Bronx and later at Fenway July 26-28.

Both teams will meet for the final time in September (12-15) for a four-game set at Yankee Stadium. Depending on how both teams perform in 2024, this could be a big series during the season's final month.

2024 MLB All-Star Game

The All-Star Game will take place on July 16, 2024 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. Which Red Sox players will represent the team during this year's Summer Classic?

Last game of the season

The final game of the 2024 season will take place in Boston at 3:05 PM EST on September 29 with the Tampa Bay Rays in town. Every MLB game begins at the same time on this date to help set the playoff schedule.

Boston's 2024 National broadcast schedule

The Red Sox will be featured on a few National broadcasts, providing America with a glimpse of the 2024 iteration of the team, which hopefully performs better than the last few years.

ESPN released its first slate of Sunday Night Baseball selections and the Red Sox will be featured a couple of times. The first SNB game featuring Boston will be on April 28 against the Chicago Cubs. ESPN will also feature the Red Sox and Yankees on June 16.

All games are scheduled for 7:00 PM EST. This just covers the first half of SNB games released by the broadcasting giant, so the Red Sox could be featured in more later in the season.

Boston will be featured in 6 total broadcasts on FOX and FS1, including three games against the Yankees. The other four games will feature matchups with the Dodgers, Astros and White Sox. You can view the current list of games featuring the Red Sox on FOX below:

It's fitting the Yankees' rivalry with the Red Sox will be the matchup featured the most, as it's always a great series to watch. FOX has not completed the broadcast schedule for the remainder of September and there could be more games added later.

Of course, the Red Sox can be viewed locally during the regular season on NESN with play-by-play announcer Dave O'Brien at the helm. O'Brien is usually joined by a rotation cast of color commentators.
