Red Sox vs. Brewers, Probable starting pitchers April 22

  • Garrett Whitlock takes the mound for the Boston Red Sox and hopes he can build off his outing last Sunday against the Angels. The right-hander gave the Sox their first quality start of the year, going seven innings and striking out five. Great on paper; Whitlock will still need to throw more strikes this time around as he deals with the pesky Brewers lineup.
  • For the Milwaukee Brewers, it will be former Sox lefty Wade Miley getting the start. The Southpaw is coming off one of his best performances in years, going seven scoreless frames and striking out eight against a loaded San Diego Padres lineup. He primarily features a cutter and changeup and focuses on weak ground balls. We'll see if his 1.5 ERA will translate against the explosive Boston bats.
