It's an exciting time of year for Boston Red Sox fans. The trade deadline is less than a week away, and Boston is in a position to buy big. Rumors have been swirling around the team for weeks about potential moves. Though a rough stretch coming out of the break has cooled the rumors slightly, it is more than likely that the Red Sox will at least make some additions.

Chief baseball officer Craig Breslow has consistently said since the trade of Rafael Devers that they are going to be aggressive at the trade deadline. What's more aggressive than adding an All-Star? This year's class of All-Stars had a few potential candidates to be on the Red Sox post-July 31.

5 2025 MLB All-stars who could be Boston Red Sox after the 2025 trade deadline

Ryan O'Hearn

The Orioles' lone All-Star is almost certainly being moved at this deadline. The lefty 1B/DH is having a career year with a .281 batting average and an .827 OPS through 80 games. He is in the final year of team control, and the Orioles have young players waiting to take his spot. He would easily slide into a first base platoon with Romy Gonzalez and give the Sox another slugger in the heart of their lineup.

Joe Ryan

There has already been some smoke surrounding this move, but it seems as though the Twins have already reconsidered moving Ryan. A first-time All-Star, the righty has developed into one of the best pitchers in the American League this season. With the Twins playing around .500 ball in July, sitting under .500, and well out of the division race but not the Wild Card, no one is quite sure what they will do at the deadline. Ryan could be the best player moved, pitching at an All-Star level and being under team control through 2027. He would create a dominant one-two punch with Crochet, but he will certainly come at a high price.

Kris Bubic

Also a first-time All-Star, the Kansas City Royals lefty is finally breaking out in his fifth full season in the big leagues. He currently sports a 2.38 ERA and is striking out a batter an inning. His availability is dependent on whether the Royals fully tear down and try to rebuild or just sell off rentals, as he is under team control for one more season after 2025. He would slide right into the number two spot in the rotation and fit Boston's want of pitchers with control.

Carlos Estévez

The Royals closer made his second career All-Star team this year. The righty has a 2.74 ERA and a 1.15 WHIP. He signed a two-year, $22 million contract during the offseason, making him a perfect fit in Boston. He could be a setup man for Aroldis Chapman this year, and then slide into the closer role next season.

Chris Sale

The Red Sox's old friend is once again pitching at a Cy Young level. Though he is currently on the 60-day IL with a fractured rib, he is eligible to return in mid-August. The Red Sox have made a move like this before, when they traded for Kyle Schwarber in 2021, and he didn't play until mid-August either. Sale has one year left on his contract after 2025, and he, plus Crochet, as a one-two punch, would be frightening to any opposing team.
