Trade 3: Tommy Pham to Red Sox for a player to be named later
Chaim Bloom is bringing another former Tampa Bay Ray to Boston. The Sox acquired 34-year-old outfielder and notoriously calm Fantasy Baseball player Tommy Pham for a player to be named later.
Pham began his big-league career with the St. Louis Cardinals, and also spent time with the Rays and San Diego Padres before joining the Cincinnati Reds this year. He’s a career .261/.358/.438 hitter with a .796 OPS and a fair amount of power in his bat, though it’s diminished in recent years. He had three consecutive 20+ HR seasons from 2017-19, but no more than 15 in any year since.
This trade almost certainly guarantees the Sox aren’t done dealing away their own outfielders. Perhaps Jackie Bradley Jr. to the Phillies?
Red Sox Rumors: Phillies eyeing unexpected trade target
Is Jackie Bradley Jr. getting traded at the deadline? The Philadelphia Phillies are reportedly eyeing the Boston Red Sox Gold Glove outfielder.
