Option #4: Red Sox vs. Braves

Another National League team, yes, but the Atlanta Braves deserve consideration. Founded in 1871, the Braves were actually originally known as the Boston Red Stockings. Sounds extremely similar to the Red Sox, right? They would go through a series of different names before committing to the Braves back in 1941. They stayed in Boston throughout this entire part of their franchise, before moving to Milwaukee after the 1952 season.

A significant part of their franchise was spent in the same city as the Red Sox, which honestly makes them an alluring option. Although the eventual move to Atlanta has definitely worked out for the team, it is interesting to think of Boston having two MLB teams like New York and Los Angeles. Alas, that part of history is now gone.

Besides this cool element about the Braves, they also have a very entertaining roster of young players. From a marketing standpoint, this helps their case. They have rising stars in Ronald Acuna Jr. and Ozzie Albies. Dansby Swanson also seems to be reaching his potential this season. He already has 25 home runs, which is far more than his previous five seasons in the league. If the Braves also extend Freddie Freeman, they would be even more of a fun team to watch in a big game like this.
