Baseball is back. Don’t miss a single pitch of a Boston Red Sox game. Here’s how to watch online, get tickets and get some sweet new swag.
After COVID-19 caused the entire world to change – including MLB – it’s nice to see a bit of normalcy creep back into our lives. Now, with baseball in full swing, it’s nice to have a spring and summer with the Boston Red Sox on our TV screens.
2021 Boston Red Sox Preview
2020 wasn’t a fun year for the Sox. Ron Roenicke was the team’s manager, but he’s been replaced by World Series Champion Alex Cora. The outfield has changed in big way, too. Andrew Benintendi and Jackie Bradley Jr. are no longer with the club.
Enter Hunter Renfroe, Franchy Cordero, Marwin Gonzalez and Kike Hernandez. The emphasis of the offseason seemed to be power and versatility. Renfroe has experience in the corner outfield spots, while demonstrating pretty good power. Gonzalez and Hernandez are two of the best utility men in baseball.
But for the Sox, most of the problems started on the mound. So the team brought in Matt Andreise, who will more than likely be a spot starter and long reliever, Garrett Richards, an oft-injured but uber-talented starter, Adam Ottavino, who will likely be the team’s Opening Day closer and Japanese reliever Hirokazu Sawamura.
There’s no telling if Sawamura’s Nippon Baseball League success will translate to the Majors, but he’s been a heck of a hurler in his career, logging a 2.77 ERA.
