All the info you need to watch the Red Sox on Opening Day.

Ok, we can say it for real this time. Baseball is back! After months of waiting in limbo, the Boston Red Sox are set to host the Baltimore Orioles for Opening Day of the 2020 regular season.

We have finally emerged from an offseason of turmoil. Our superstar outfielder was traded away and our ace pitcher underwent surgery that will sideline him for the year. A global pandemic reduced the schedule to a mere 60 games and an agonizing labor dispute infuriated the fan base.

2020 has not been kind but we can put those concerns behind us now and focus on the positive outlook of a new season. The Red Sox lost some key components to their roster but they still have their fair share of talent. If you can’t get excited about watching a lineup featuring Xander Bogaerts, Rafael Devers, and J.D. Martinez, I don’t know what to tell you.

Pitching if the big question entering the season and it starts with the right-hander taking the mound on Opening Day. With Chris Sale recovering from surgery and Eduardo Rodriguez still feeling lingering effects from his bout with COVID-19, Nathan Eovaldi will be tasked with the Opening Day start.

Nasty Nate is aiming to bounce back from a dismal season marred by injury and inconsistency. He enters this year feeling good and looked sharp in camp. If we get the version of Eovaldi we saw down the stretch and throughout the postseason in 2018, Boston’s rotation will receive a much-needed boost.

The unpredictability of a shortened season where every game weighs heavier in the standings combined with an expanded postseason format give the Red Sox a feasible path to the playoffs. Three games against a rebuilding Baltimore club should give Boston an opportunity to get off to a hot start and build some momentum to carry them through the summer.

Fans will not be able to attend the game at Fenway Park so you’ll need to know where to tune in for the season opener. Fortunately, we’re here to provide you with all the information you need to catch the Red Sox battle the division-rival Orioles.
