All the information you need to tune in for the final game in London between the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees.
A quick two-game series in London between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees wraps up on Sunday. Well, quick might not be the most accurate description considering the first game lasted about five hours.
These two teams combined for 30 runs on 37 hits on Saturday in the first MLB game ever played in Europe. Neither starting pitcher made it out of the first inning as Rick Porcello and Masahiro Tanaka were both shelled for six earned runs. The bullpens weren’t any better.
The offensive fireworks were expected given the cozy dimensions of London Stadium but nobody could have predicted the final score would be 17-13. London anticipated getting its first taste of baseball and they ended up with a football score.
Eduardo Rodriguez takes the mound coming off three consecutive appearances in which he’s lasted at least 6 1/3 innings. The Red Sox will need the lefty to go at least that deep again after they burned through seven different relievers on Saturday.

Steven Wright tossed 40 pitches and Mike Shawaryn threw 53 so it’s doubtful either will be available for the series finale. It’s not as if they can have a reliever jump on a bus from Pawtucket to provide reinforcements considering they are an ocean away, meaning Boston’s bullpen will be shorthanded.
At least New York’s bullpen will be just as worn out. They are expected to use lefty Stephen Tarpley as the opener. The Yankees may be regretting that choice now that the first game of the series unexpectedly turned into a bullpen game.
Boston has fallen 10 games behind their AL East rivals after dropping the first game of the series. They can’t afford to lose both of these games.
