Up until the month of August, Sale was blazing through the MLB. His earned run average was just above 2.30 and he was leading the league in strikeouts by a mile. Sale may have been the best pitcher for the Red Sox this year, but he seems to have run out of gas. We need Sale to show us the form he showed us in the first half if we are going to go anywhere. You cannot go far in the postseason without a pitcher you can trust. With all of the inconsistency that he has shown us in the second half, you have to wonder if he has the energy or arm left to help contribute.
