Triple-A Pawtucket Red Sox

Final Score: Buffalo Bisons 6, PawSox 0

Notable Pitchers:

Dayan Diaz (2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, BB, 3 K)

Pat Light (2 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 3 K)

Notable Position Players:

Jackie Bradley Jr. (0-4, K)

Rusney Castillo (1-4, K)

Garin Cecchini (1-3, BB, K)

Allen Craig (2-4, K)

  • It’s truly astounding how quickly Craig’s career has gone downhill. An All-Star just two seasons ago, Craig is now slashing a meager .265/.370/.344 in Pawtucket. He’s still a patient hitter with an advanced approach but his power has essentially disappeared since he broke the Lisfranc bone in his foot and, even after nearly two years having elapsed, he’s not even close to his former self.

Marco Hernandez (0-2, K)

Travis Shaw (0-4)

Double-A Portland Sea Dogs

Final Score: Sea Dogs 2, New Hampshire Fisher Cats 1

Notable Pitchers:

Williams Jerez (2 IP, 3 H, R, 2 BB)

Notable Position Players:

Carlos Asuaje (1-3, 2B, K)

Tzu-Wei Lin (0-2, BB, SB)

Manuel Margot (2-4, 2B)

Henry Ramos (0-2, 2 BB)

Sam Travis (2-4, SB, 2 K)

  • Travis’s first professional season has been a success anyway you slice it as he’s hitting .302/.361/.406 in Double-A just a year out of college. One underrated aspect of Travis’s performance is his surprising speed on the bases as the first baseman has swiped 13 bags on the year. Granted, he has been caught 9 times so speed might not be a major part of his game going forward, but it’s still an intriguing element of his season.

High-A Salem Red Sox

Final Score: Potomac Nationals 3, Red Sox 2

Notable Position Players:

Mauricio Dubon (1-3, BB)

  • It’s taken him some time to adjust to High-A, but Dubon is slowly rounding into form in Salem. He’s still only hitting .213/.286/.266 since his promotion but he is up to .256 in his last ten games and, at 21 years old, there’s plenty of time for him to keep improving.

Low-A Greenville Drive

Final Score: Charleston RiverDogs 7, Drive 2

Notable Position Players:

Michael Chavis (1-2, K)

Rafael Devers (1-2)

Javier Guerra (0-4, 2 K)

Nick Longhi (0-4, K)

Danny Mars (1-4, SB, 2 K)

  • Mars was a relatively unheralded sixth-rounder out of Chipola College last year but he was solid in Lowell last season and is beginning to make an impact in Greenville. A speedy outfielder with a potentially plus hit tool, Mars is a guy to watch and could be a fourth outfielder type in the big leagues.

Yoan Moncada (1-3, BB, SB, K)

Short Season-A Lowell Spinners

Final Score: Auburn Doubledays 5, Spinners 2

Notable Pitchers:

Matt Kent (4 IP, 3 H, 2 R, ER, K)

Bobby Poyner (2 IP, 2 H, 0 R)

  • As an affordable college senior who succeeded in a tough college baseball conference, the Red Sox were lucky to grab Poyner in the 14th round. He has limited upside as a left-handed reliever but he’s adjusted well to Lowell and could move quickly through the organization. He currently has a 2.16 ERA in 8.1 innings and this marks another good outing for the southpaw.

Notable Position Players:

Luis Alexander Basabe (1-3, 2B, BB, CS)

Andrew Benintendi (0-4, K)

Mitchell Gunsolus (0-4)

Josh Ockimey (0-2, 2 BB, K)
