Triple-A Pawtucket Red Sox

Final Score: PawSox 13, Durham Bulls 4

Notable Pitchers:

Dayan Diaz (3 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 4 K)

Joe Kelly (5 IP, 4 H, 2 R, BB, 7 K)

  • Kelly has been quite good since his option to Pawtucket, as he now has a 2.84 ERA in 4 starts with the PawSox. He’s backing that ERA up with good peripherals (8.5 K/9 and 2.8 BB/9), which may indicate that the demotion has done him some good. Maybe after a few more good starts, he’ll be in line for a return to Boston.

Pat Light (IP, 0 H, 0 R, K)

Notable Position Players:

Jackie Bradley Jr. (3-5, 2 HR, SB)

Rusney Castillo (0-6, K)

Garin Cecchini (0-4, BB, 4 K)

Allen Craig (1-5, BB)

Marco Hernandez (4-5, 2B, HR)

  • Hernandez broke out this season in Portland and now, in just his second game since being promoted to Pawtucket, he has broken out once more. With four hits, including a double and a home run, last night, he is really transforming into a guy that might have a future with the Red Sox.
