Triple-A Pawtucket Red Sox
Final Score: INT All-Stars 4, PCL All-Stars 3
Notable Position Players:
Jackie Bradley Jr. (0-3, BB, 2 K)
- Though he hasn’t shown it in his inconsistent big league playing time this season, Bradley has been having a hell of a season down in Pawtucket and led off for the International League All-Stars last night. He has slashed .308/.386/.449 in Triple-A this season and, though he didn’t have much of a game last night, he does deserve one more chance at regular playing time in the major leagues.

Double-A Portland Sea Dogs
Final Score: West All-Stars 4, East All-Stars 4
Notable Pitchers:
William Cuevas (IP, 0 H, 0 R)
Robby Scott (1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R)
Madison Younginer (IP, H, 0 R, K)
Notable Position Players:
Marco Hernandez (2-2, HR)
- Another Red Sox prospect led off down in the Double-A All-Star game but Hernandez performed a bit better than Bradley. The 22-year old shortstop was named All-Star MVP after a 2-2 performance featuring a home run. He is hitting .326/.349/.482 this season, leading the Eastern League in batting average, and is potentially transforming into a legitimate prospect.

High-A Salem Red Sox
Game One Final Score: Red Sox 4, Lynchburg Hillcats 3
Notable Pitchers:
Teddy Stankiewicz (6 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 3 K)
- Stankiewicz has been on a roller-coaster ride of late, with this masterful outing coming directly after an awful game which saw him throw five-innings of six-run ball, which came directly after seven shutout innings. In order for “Stanky” to succeed in the higher levels of the minors, he’ll need to harness his command more consistently, but he’s still 21 years old so there’s certainly time.
Notable Position Players:
Mauricio Dubon (0-1, K)
Tzu-Wei Lin (1-3, BB, SB)
Wendell Rijo (0-3, K)
Game Two Final Score: Red Sox 4, Hillcats 1
Notable Position Players:
Mauricio Dubon (2-4)
- Dubon has scuffled in his first taste of High-A, slashing .203/.273/.220 after making a name for himself with a strong performance in Greenville. The 20-year old infielder still has promise as a utility player type, though, and the next step towards that ceiling is for him to conquer Salem.
Low-A Greenville Drive
Final Score: Augusta GreenJackets 6, Drive 2
Notable Position Players:
Rafael Devers (0-4, K)
Nick Longhi (1-3, BB, K)
Yoan Moncada (2-5, HR)
- Moncada, who has been tearing the cover off the ball lately, homers in his third consecutive game. However, last night’s home run was unique in that it was an inside-the-park home run, as Moncada showed off his elite speed in rounding the bases for his fourth long ball of the year.

Short Season A Lowell Spinners
Final Score: Spinners 7, Connecticut Tigers 4
Notable Pitchers:
Matt Kent (3 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 2 K)
Bobby Poyner (IP, H, 0 R, 2 K)
Notable Position Players:
Victor Acosta (2-4)
Luis Alexander Basabe (2-5, HR, SB, 2 K)
Andrew Benintendi (0-2, 3 BB)
Tate Matheny (2-4, 2B)
- Matheny’s professional career hasn’t started perfectly, as he’s hitting just .226/.333/.258 on the season, but he came through with a solid game and his first extra-base hit last night. He profiles as a fourth-outfielder type that should move quickly through the organization and could develop into a decent prospect before long.
Mitchell Gunsolus (1-2, 2 BB)
Josh Ockimey (0-3, BB, K)

Gulf Coast League Red Sox
Final Score: GCL Orioles 7, Red Sox 5
Notable Position Players:
Yoan Aybar (2-4)
Trent Kemp (0-4, 3 K)
Andrew Noviello (0-2, K)
- Noviello, a high-school catcher whom the Red Sox drafted in the 25th round this season, makes his first professional start. A legitimate draft prospect, Noviello slipped that late in the draft because of a strong commitment to Maine, but as a local Massachusetts kid, couldn’t pass up the opportunity to sign with his hometown team. He’s a long way from becoming a major prospect, but even if he doesn’t, it’s only a 25th round pick and it makes sense to chase the upside.
Jagger Rusconi (0-4)
Yomar Valentin (0-3)
Kyri Washington (0-4, 2 K)
