Double-A Portland Sea Dogs

Carlos Asuaje (0-3, 2 RBI)

Justin Haley (3 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 3 BB, 3 K)

  • Haley is an intriguing, if unheralded, pitching prospect who has struggled in Portland in his age 24 season. He has had troubles with walks throughout his minor league career and he has just a 5.29 ERA this season, a mark which he’ll have a hard time improving upon if he continues to pitch like he did yesterday.

Sam Travis (0-4)

Shane Victorino (1-3, 2B, R, RBI)

  • A strong rehab game by Victorino suggests that the outfielder is close to being ready to return to the Red Sox. It’s unclear exactly where he’ll fit into Boston’s plans going forward, but he’ll probably play regularly against left-handed starters and perhaps could become a useful trade chip.
