The Boston Red Sox home jersey is one of the most iconic in baseball. In an era where threads are available in every color of the rainbow and teams literally change their stripes every few years, it has remained relatively unchanged for decades. The Sox are also one of a handful of teams that do not display player names on the backs of the home jerseys.

MLB, the Red Sox and Majestic Athletic encourage Red Sox fans to participate in “Red Sox Jersey Day,” with tomorrow’s 7:10 pm Fenway tilt against the Oakland Athletics. Wear your home jersey, your road jersey, your alternate jersey, your shirsey, whatever floats your boat.

Speaking of floating, it’s a good thing this promotion isn’t running today; does Majestic make a Red Sox inflatable raft or raincoat?
Wear it to work, to school, or out that night. A cool part of this promotion is that establishments around town are getting on board. If you wear your jersey to Jerry Remy’s or Who’s on First, for example, you can receive discounts. Check with your local grill or watering hole for details.
