The Boston Red Sox are letting their Season Ticket Package holders take the field and feel like superstars. An average fan can now step on to the turf of one of the oldest parks in Major League Baseball, and finally feel the adrenaline rush of a fastball coming their way.

At least for five pitches.

An email was sent to all Fenway Park Ticket Package holders, containing an invitation to take on-field batting practice at America’s Most Beloved Ballpark. One member from each party is eligible to step up to Fenway Park’s home plate and receive five pitches from the Batting Practice Pitching Machine.

The event runs on Friday (10/5), Sunday (10/7), and Monday (10/8),operating from 9am-9:30pm each day. Anyone who would like to attend, but not will not be taking part in batting practice will be able to watch the festivities from the seating bowl.

Fans will also be able to take advantage of special offers and privileges including a behind-the-scenes tour of Fenway, children will be able to spend time in Wally’s World, a kid-friendly area of Yawkey Way, and there will be plenty of photo opportunities. Whether it be a picture with the 2004 and 2007 World Series trophies, or a picture taken atop the Green Monster, memories will be made. The Red Sox will also allow fans to take advantage of the half-price concessions.

I will have live coverage of the event on Monday morning and will be providing insight through this Scribble forum that I will be updating all day, with blurbs of information, pictures, and more.
