Bobby Valentine Shows His Sense of Humor With WEEI Host

To say it’s been a trying year for the Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine this season would be a huge understatement.  Saddled with injuries and off the field drama that the Kardashians would be proud of, Valentine appeared to have hit his breaking point last week when he sounded off on WEEI.com’s, Glen Ordway, co-host of The Big Show.  Of course I’m referring to the infamous line of “If I were there right now, I’d punch you right in the mouth” that Valentine threw at Ordway when the WEEI host asked if Bobby had checked out mentally on the season.

Valentine appeared on The Big Show again on Wednesday afternoon, mainly because I’m sure he’s legally obligated to appear on a weekly basis, but this time he showed off his sense of humor (see the attached picture, courtesy and credit to The Big Show/WEEI 93.7 FM).  Bobby V came to the Fenway radio studios with a pair of boxing gloves as if to say “I’m ready for that fight I mentioned last week.”

Both Valentine and Ordway apologized to kick off the interview which quickly diffused any tension between the two parties.  Ordway admitted that he knew the comment by Valentine was a joke, despite Bobby sounding over the top angry.  Job security for Valentine continues to be a discussion point amongst Red Sox fans and media, but Bobby is confident that he’s the man to lead this group into the resurgent 2013 season.
