Will Jon Lester Prove he is the Ace of this Staff Tonight?

Here we are, game 162 and it ends the same way it started.  Jon Lester, was dubbed the opening day pitcher and rightfully so.  He will be handed the ball tonight in the final regular season game of the year.  A little more at stake tonight then when he took the hill back in April.  In 2010, Lester had a Cy Young award type of year.  This year we saw mixed results from the powerful lefty.  Lester has always started off slow at the beginning of each year but always finished strong.  Not this year, Lesters last 4 starts have been horrendous.  If Lester won only 2 of his last 4 starts , then today we would be talking about Fridays playoff game, instead we are clinging on for our dear lives.  Which Jon Lester will show up tonight?

The pitcher who can dominate a game or the one who only lasted 2.2 innings against the Yankees on Friday?  Use all the cliches you want, all of them fit for Lester tonight.  It is win or go home time.  Time for the Ace to be the Ace.  He should get plenty of run support with Orioles pitcher Alfredo Simon on the mound.  But, no lead seems to be safe these days.  The season rests on Lesters shoulders tonight.

How confident do you feel about Lester tonight?
