I Don’t Get It. Do You?

From the desk of the “I don’t get it” Department.  As this season continues to limp along, I have been reflecting on few things I would like to share.  These thoughts are in random order.

Why did Josh Beckett even start the game this past Wednesday night?  Did anyone check out the weather report?  If you don’t have access to the Internet, just stick your head out the window.  It was pouring all day.  A wasted start to say the least.

Did Jacoby Ellsbury and Carl Crawford forget how to bunt?  That’s the only conclusion I can come up with why neither of  the two  fastest players in baseball ever attempt to get on base via a bunt.

The Ortiz shift.  You would think by now that Ortiz would at least try to just slap a ball down to third base.

Why can’t J.D. Drew ever be healthy?  Have you ever heard of anyone with so many aches and pains in your life.  Can you say hypochondriac?

Where’s the personality?  I long for the days of Damon, Millar, Timlin and Manny being Manny.  With the exception of Dustin Pedroia and David Ortiz, does anyone on this team even know how to smile?  I would rather have a “bunch of idiots that Cowboy up,”  then a bunch of snoozers on the field.  If you can’t “Cowboy Up,” at least “Wake Up.”

How many times do you have to bring Bobby Jenks in the game before you finally realize he sucks?

Who taught Jarrod Saltalamacchia how to catch?

Why does Kevin Youkilis strike out as much as Dave Kingman used to?

Is this bullpen the best relievers we have in the entire organization?  If not, what are we waiting for to call some of these minor leaguers up?  Maybe, you’re still waiting for them to pitch themselves out of it.

What does Curt Young do before and after games?  Obviously not waching film on his pitchers.  Maybe, he should confer with Tim Wakefield.

I could go on, but I think I will stop here.  I find myself pounding on the keyboard instead of typing.  I better stop before I need an Anger Management Class.
