Final Thoughts Before Opening Day

With opening day finally here, I thought I would share some of my thoughts about the upcoming season.  These are just random thoughts of what i am looking forward to.  Brian, has been sharing some of the predictions this staff has about each division of the American League.  These are just tiny tidbits for you to chew on.

Ok, let the rambling begin:

Chase Utley going down for the Phillies has the same impact as the Red Sox did when Dustin Pedroia went down

Yankees are going to wear C.C. Sabathia down this year.

The Manny being Manny show is going to put alot of fans in the seats down in Tampa.

Which will make Johnny Damon a very happy camper, especially when he recieves his one million dollar attendence bonus.

Wonder if Damon will share his bonus with Manny?

I wish Damon would grow his hair and beard back for old time sake.

One last thing on Manny, watch for him to hit 20+ homers and drive in 90+runs this year.

Adam Dunn is going to enjoy being in the American League this year.  This means more at bats, which equals more home runs.

Buster Posey is going to follow in Cal Ripken’s and Dustin Pedroia‘s footsteps this year.  Rookie of the year in first year and MVP the next.

The Atlanta Braves young kids are going to outlast the aging Philadelphia Phillies this year.

The Red Sox didn’t re sign Jason Bay because they were worried about his knees, little did they know every other body part was going to break down to.

Roy Halladay-Stud

Tim Lincecum-Stud 2

Matt Cain -up and coming Stud

NL Cy Young winner- watch for Stud 2 to beat the Stud in a close race.  Lincecum by a hair.

Jay Bruce is going to have a better season than Joey Votto for the Reds.

I think the Milwaukee Brewers are going to win the NL Central.  But, not sure if they are that good or am I just caught up in the hype.

Ryan Braun will win NL MVP

I hope Matt Garza‘s spring isn’t a sign of things to come.

How can you not like Evan Longoria.

Yet it is still so easy to hate A-Rod.

Joe Girardi got it right by batting Brett Gardner lead off and Derek Jeter second.

But, he is going to regret not pitching A.J. Burnett fourth like Terry Francona did with Josh Beckett.

Where did the days of dominate designated hitters go?

I love Carl Crawford in Boston.  But, Jacoby Ellsbury is still my favorite.

But, Crawford will win AL MVP

If the Texas Rangers made their hands into antlers last year everytime they stole a base, what should Crawford and Ellsbury do?  Maybe they should form a lightening bolt like Usain Bolt does, it would be fitting.

Does anyone know where the real Jonathan Papelbon went?

The Cardinals are going to make Albert Pujols a very rich man.  Too bad they are going to lose Chris Carpenter and Adam Wainwright in the process.

Albert pick up the phone and call A-Rod before you decide to become the highest paid in the game.  Ask him how much he enjoyed playing in Texas.

When did Ryan Howard get so old?

Vladimir Guerrero always makes his teammates better.  No matter where he is.

I don’t think the Minnesota Twins, Texas Rangers or Cincinnati Reds make it back to the playoffs this year.

Don Orsillo and Jerry Remy are always fun  to listen to.  The best in the game

I do miss the voice of Jack buck

I could go on , but i wont.

Final thought

Red Sox over the Atlanta Braves in World Series

I hope everyone enjoys their season.
