Yankees In – 1 down & 7 more to go

Look who decided to join the party this post-season?  It’s none other than the most hated team in the entire major leagues, the New York Yankees.  By virtue of their 6-5 victory on Tuesday evening, the Yankees have became the first team to punch their ticket for the postseason.  With 1 down and 7 more to go, it’ll be interesting to see which teams secure their spot.  In the sweepstakes called “Quest for a World Series title.”  Fortunately for us the wait won’t be that long.

Especially since we only have 10 days left, until the end of the 2009 regular season.  Which means those final 7 spots will start to go fast.  Concerning the AL side of the chase, we should be seeing the Angels finally wrapping up the AL West.  Then the focus will switch the Tigers and Twins.  As one of them will be capturing the AL Central title.

Bringing us to the final playoff spot in the American League, the AL Wild Card winner.  Which barring any last minute collapse should be coming out of the AL East.  As the Boston Red Sox will most likely be wrapping that spot up, within the next few days.

How’s it going to look on the 4th of October?  No one knows at the moment, but one thing is for sure.  The final 10 remaining days are definitely going to be entertaining to watch.
