Here’s the latest up to date standings for all the teams who are involved in the AL Wild Card hunt. It’s Day 2 of the “Chase” which I’ll continue to run daily, until this all important race is decided. With less than a month left to play in the regular season the question as to which American League team WANTS and WINS this final spot will be decided shortly.
Leading The Pack – Boston Red Sox
Moving Up Fast ‘N’ Furious – Texas Rangers – 3 Back
Holding Their Own –Tampa Bay Rays – 7 Back & Seattle Mariners 8 Back
Lifeless & About Finished – Minnesota Twins 11 Back & Chicago White Sox 12 Back
Sunday’s Winners – Red Sox
Sunday’s Losers – Rangers, Rays, Twins, Mariners & White Sox
It was a great day for the Red Sox who finally showed some signs of life on offense. As the Red Sox beat the White Sox 6-1 behind another brilliant performance by Jon Lester. More importantly for Boston is that all the teams who are currently trailing the Red Sox all lost. Which means Boston was able to distance themselves a little further ahead in the “Chase” for the AL Wild Card spot.
