Things are really starting to look good for myself, the family, and the Boston Red Sox! As not only have the Red Sox rattled off three straight wins. But my son has also finally returned home from Duke University Hospital, after another surgery for Hirschsprung’s Disease. Which is music to my ears, since as far as I’m concerned things are pretty much back on track. Not only does it make me happier, but it also means things might actually start to settle down, for both the Sox and myself.Â
Which means a lot, especially after the way the Sox were dragging after being swept this past weekend by the NY Yankees, in New York. What they needed was just the right remedy, and they definitely have gotten that so far. As the Sox have won three straight, since they returned back to Boston. And the friendly confines of Fenway Park for a short series with the  Detroit Tigers. While winning 3 in a row, the Sox have now moved a game closer in the AL East, trailing the Yankees by only 5 1/2 games.
Now let’s not get to excited this was only a short four game series for Boston.  Before they once again hit the road, as they have six games with the Texas Rangers and Toronto Blue Jays. Let’s hope that this road-trip is a more pleasant one than the last trip. When the Sox opened up the second half of the year leading the AL East. Which was quickly taken from them as they went 1-5, on the road with these same two clubs.
Then it’s back home to Boston for a showdown with the dreaded Yankees, the Chicago White Sox and the Blue Jays. This crucial 10 game home stand will not only close out the month of August. It also brings the Sox right into September, which we all hope will have them right smack in the thick of things for a playoff spot. Whether it’s for the division title or the AL Wild Card spot, no one knows at the moment.
The only thing that matters is that the Sox continue to correct things and continue to still play baseball, come October. Which is not only music to my ears, but also the millions of faithful Red Sox Nation fans around the country and the world! LET’S GO SOX!
