Brooms Be Coming Out Tonight?
Will the brooms be coming out tonight for Boston? The fans of Red Sox Nation cetainly hope they will, as the Boston Red Sox will be going for the series sweep. Over the Florida Marlins in Boston with a victory this evening. The Sox who won the first two games of this series thanks to the pitching performances from Tim Wakefield (9-3) and Brad Penny (6-2). Will be sending Jon Lester (5-5) to the mound facing off with Ricky Nolasco (2-6) in the series finale.
The Marlins coming to town was just the thing that a few of the Sox hitters needed at the moment. As Dustin Pedroia who was in a mini slump has been on fire in this series going 5 for 10 with 3 RBI’s. Plus Florida was just the team with the young unproven pitching that David Ortiz needed to continue his recent hot streak at the plate. As Ortiz has gone 3 for 5, with a home-run, 3 walks and 3 runs batted in in the first two games of this series.
And let’s not forget the play of shortstop Nick Green who’s not only been solid in the field. He’s not only been making great plays defensively that have been winding up on the highlight reels on various sports stations, but he’s also gone 3 for 7 with 2RBI’s and a couple of walks so far. That’s a wrap for now, more to come later on, until then let’s sit back and hope the Sox can close the Marlins out with another victory!
