THE DARN THING HURTS LIKE THE DICKENS, LOL!

Hey sports fans please accept my apologies for the lack of content over the past few days.  I’ve been dealing with an injury since before the weekend and needed to give it a few days rest before I was able to sit back in front of a computer and turn out my normal masterpieces, LMAO!  The freakish injury happened when I was trying to give two of my kids a bath on Thursday and the tub decided it wanted a fight.  Hey, what was I suppose to do?  Back down from the tub, NO WAY!

So my thinking was I could take the little bugger (tub) on and decided to tango with it.  First off let me tell you what a mistake that was, since that stubborn tub might be huge and slow, but boy can it fight.  Just mix some water into the equation and it’ll get you every-time.  Just as it caused me to slip and tumble half into the tub which caused me to pull a muscle in my side.

Now, I know what Kevin Youkilis must have felt like when he was dealing with his oblique muscle strain a few weeks back.  THE DARN THING HURTS LIKE THE DICKENS, LOL!  It was so bad and painful that I was unable to fully take a deep breath.  Which means that laughing, eating, and moving around in general was out of the question.  As it only aggravated the muscle pull even more, which made me whimper like a baby.

And sneezing, I’ll just say I don’t recommend doing that with an oblique strain.  It’s not a nice feeling on the body and it makes you want to do what the MLB’ers do, which is pop a few pain pills and shoot some steroids to ease the pain.  OK, obviously I’m joking about the steroids (not all MLB’ers use them) but about wanting to shoot up with them.  There’s no need to when a few pain pills do the trick just as nice and they work much faster.

So now that I’m finally starting to feel better, plus I’m actually able to sit my computer and not cringe with pain.  I needed to take a few minutes and just report on the miserable weekend our beloved team just went through in Toronto.  All I have to say is thank freakin god the Boston Red Sox are out of Canada!  With the way the Toronto Blue Jays smacked us around in the first two games of the series, I’m happy we weren’t swept.  If it wasn’t for the performance that Jon Lester, Youkilis and Dustin Pedroia gave the club on Sunday, the Blue Jays would of most likely have swept our lonely butts right out of Canada.

What’s next for the Sox?  Well for the team who’s continuing to struggle on the road this season with a 12-16 record away from Fenway, it’s a free all expense paid trip to lovely Detroit.  Where on Tuesday, they’ll start a three game series with the Detroit Tigers before heading home to the friendly confines of Fenway Park to face the AL West leading Texas Rangers.  With a record of 3-4 on this trip the Sox need to win at least 2 if not sweep the Tigers in this series.  Another losing road trip is not what Boston or their fans need or want to see at this moment.

That’s all for me for the moment, so enjoy the off day for the Red Sox today (Monday) and let’s get ready for the good ole Tigers!  GO SOX!
