You’ll LOVE This News!

It’s Memorial Day weekend which means it’s time to relax, visit with family and friends, do some barbecuing and enjoy all the weekends festivities. Oh, it also means the Boston Red Sox are in action all weekend long as they have three games slated with the dreaded New York Mets at Fenway. The Mets who took game one with a 5-3 victory received a great pitching performance by Johan Santana as he improved his record to 6-2 on the year. For Boston it marked the return of Daisuke Matsuzaka to the mound after his stint on the disabled list. Matsuzaka who went five innings and allowed 4 earned runs saw his record drop to 0-2 with the loss.
For those of you who are die hard Red Sox fans and can’t see them play everyday, you’ll LOVE this news. Here’s your chance to watch them battle the Mets for the rest of this series as they play tonight at 7:10 and the game will be shown on NESN and also MLBN. The series finale Sunday afternoon will also be televised at 1:35 on both the NESN and TBS stations. So if you’re like myself and are unable to watch the Sox day after day (thanks to black-outs on the part of MLB) we’ll have plenty of time to relax, drink a nice cold one and enjoy the action.
After their game on Sunday it’s time for them to hit the road for a 3 city 10 game road trip that brings them to Minnesota, Detroit and Toronto before they return home in early June. This road-trip will mark the only visits the Red Sox have with the Twins and Tigers on the road this entire season (once again thank you to the scheduling gods)! It also begins the first of nine straight road meeting with the Blue Jays for the season, as the Jays don’t come back to Fenway Park, till the end of August.
So enjoy the weekend, be safe and please be responsible with all the weekends activities. Also just a little tip if you’re going to be having a few alcoholic beverages let’s be smart enough to have a designated driver. We all like to enjoy the weekend which unofficially kicks off the summer time fun, but let’s make sure we use our heads and do it safely. And as always remember GO RED SOX!
