Rookie’s First Career Major League Home Run!

Jonathan Van Every, just won over the hearts of the Boston Red Sox and their fans.  And it all happened with one swing of his bat, or should I say one “massive”swing.  As the Sox took the “rubber” gave of the series with the Cleveland Indians,  thanks to his late inning heroics.  The rookie’s first career major league home run couldn’t of come at a better time, as two things were accomplished with his blast.

First it helped the Sox get the much needed victory as they took 2 of 3 from the Indians, in their only visit of the season to Ohio.  And secondly it’s a little sweet revenge for Van Every, who had spent 7 years bouncing up and down the Indians farm system.  Never having the chance to play for the big league club, as they cut him and left him for dead.  Worse than that no one ever bothered to tell him why he was released, but hey for Van Every that’s ancient history.

He let his play in the field and his bat do all the talking last night, as he slammed the “nail in the coffin” with his deep shot to straight away center-field, with two outs in the tenth.  Congratulations Jonathan on a job well done!  If you’d like to see Van Every’s hit just click here “home-run”!
