Triple-A Pawtucket Red Sox

Final Score: Syracuse Chiefs 3, PawSox 2

Notable Pitchers:

Edwin Escobar (0.2 IP, H, R, ER, BB, K)

Brian Johnson (5 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 5 K)

  • Johnson didn’t turn in his best outing of the season, but he was solid and likely could have gone out for a sixth inning given that he was only at 87 pitches. He doesn’t appear to have much more to learn from Triple-A and could be with the Red Sox shortly once the Red Sox decide to finally cut ties with Justin Masterson for good.

Noe Ramirez (2.1 IP, H, 0 R, 2 BB, 3 K)

  • Ramirez gets back to dominating Triple-A after a terrible major league debut. He has pitched to a 2.22 ERA with the PawSox this season but it’s unclear if his deception will ever fully translate to the big leagues.

Notable Position Players:

Jackie Bradley Jr. (0-3, BB)

Rusney Castillo (0-2, RBI, BB)

Garin Cecchini (1-4, 3 K)

Allen Craig (0-4, K)

Daniel Nava (0-4, RBI)
