All You Wanna Do Is Talk, Talk; Walkin’ the Walk on John Ackeren’s Sports Cornucopia.

Broadcasting is an entirely different animal from writing. It’s immediacy is much more akin to walking a tight rope than the armchair quarterbacking that defines sports writing. If I screw something up when I write it I can fix it when I proof. it. While some things in broadcasting can indeed be fixed in the mix you can’t fix something stupid. Once said, it’s out there, period. Speaker beware.

I found myself walking that tightrope last night when John Ackeren interviewed me on his Omaha based show that podcasts on www.fansidedradio.com. It was a trip and, yes Virginia, I do believe every human being on the planet hates the sound of their own voice when played played back.

Catch John’s show live from Omaha each week night, 10 pm ET/7 pm PT and on the Fansided Radio Site. In addition to my Sox Squawk, John interviewed Alan Schechter of thejetpress.com about the recent NY Jets training camp dust ups, Ryan Wright from razorbackers.com, and Brian Spaen from autzenzoo.com.

Radio is a sound salvation
Radio is cleaning up the nation
They say you better listen to the voice of reason
But they don’t give you any choice ’cause they think that it’s treason
So you had better do as you are told
You better listen to the radio
