WEEI/NESN Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon Partners With Arbella Insurance Foundation

If you are a Red Sox fan you know all about the Jimmy Fund, what a worthwhile cause it is and have likely donated to the charity during the two-day event, better known as the WEEI/NESN Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon.  The official Red Sox charity that helps the fight against cancer is once again scheduled to take place from August 21-22 with Arbella Insurance Foundation as a proud sponsor, according to an official release from WEEI.com.

The partnership brings additional excitement to the event as Arbella Insurance has formally announced their “Extra effort to drive out cancer” campaign which will see the company donate $50 to the Jimmy Fund for every extra base hit by the Red Sox players, up to a maximum of $50,000.  The total already sits at $2,200 and you can watch the total grow by checking out the total tote board on WEEI.com/extra.  So when Big Papi and company belt doubles off the Green Monster all season long, you’ll know that they are not only helping the Red Sox win, they are also helping the Jimmy Fund win.

The WEEI release states that over the past ten years the Jimmy Fund has raised nearly $28 million dollars with the 2011 campaign accounting for over $3.4 million.
