Anyone care to know what “Manny being Manny” gets you these days? If your Manny Ramirez that’s SUSPENDED FOR 50 GAMES! As Major League Baseball just announced the star outfielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers has tested positive for a banned substance and he’s “history” for the next 50 games. His suspension will begin immediately and will run through at least the 3rd of July, the actual date of his return is unknown due to the possibilities of a rain-out or cancellation of any games.
Shortly after being suspended Ramirez made this statement through the Players Association:
“Recently I saw a physician for a personal health issue. He gave me a medication, not a steroid, which he thought was okay to give me. Unfortunately, the medication was banned under our drug policy. Under the policy that mistake is now my responsibility. I have been advised not to say anything more for now. I do want to say one other thing; I’ve taken and passed about 15 drug tests over the past five seasons.
“I want to apologize to Mr. McCourt, Mrs. McCourt, Mr. Torre, my teammates, the Dodger organization, and to the Dodger fans. LA is a special place to me and I know everybody is disappointed. So am I. I’m sorry about this whole situation.”
— Manny Ramirez
WOW, is all I can say on that statement and here’s why. He never mentioned his family or most importantly his wife in his regrets only the organization and the fans. Just a little piece of advice Manny “Watch your ass when you return home tonight” the wife’s gonna be kicking it all around LA! Another thing missing are his own words or thoughts on this matter, since most likely it was done-up by his agent or a publicist for him. For anyone who’s ever seen or heard an interview with Ramirez over the years we know he can’t put five complete words together to form a sentence, much less a two paragraph statement.
Would anyone care to guess how many fans of the Boston Red Sox and most likely the New York Yankees, are laughing their you know what’s off right now. Not to mention the entire National League as they won’t have to worry about Manny for the next 50 games at least. It’s a beautiful thing especially if your a pitcher and you know you won’t be facing him, kinda changes things for the NL teams and more importantly the NL West now.
I’ll end this with these final five words – MANNY YOUR A DUMB ASS!
