Known As “The Little Horse” By His Teammates!

Who in the world doesn’t love a cocky ballplayer?  Someone who’s not afraid or worried about basically saying what’s on their mind.  The type of player that will speak their mind, and then go and do what they get paid big bucks for.  Which is to play hard, consistent and no holds barred.  Of course it’s always easier to enjoy them and cheer for when they play for your favorite club.  In Boston that man is none other than Dustin Pedroia.

Or better known as “The Little Horse” by his teammates on the Boston Red Sox.  And the feisty 5’7 guy who’s not the typical looking ballplayer is off and running again this season.  After a spring training workout in Fort Myers, Florida today.  Pedroia while being interviewed had this to say when asked about Manny Ramirez, “We’re not going to miss Manny Ramirez at all,”.  I love it, couldn’t of said it better myself!

From a fans point of view I love that it was finally said.  Who’s not sick and tired of hearing all the “Sox can’t win without Manny” talk?  Sorry, folks but I sure am.  I’m beyond tired of hearing, we went through this the second half of last season, after Manny left.  We have no need to deal with it this year, or the patience either.

Nice job DP!  Now that’s the way for the entire Sox organization to think this upcoming season.  We don’t need Ramirez, his distractions plus the baggage that comes with him to win.  Nothing like a little honest smack talk to remind the baseball community we’ve been the World Series champions two of the past five seasons.  Who’s about to make it three of six in 2009.
