Albert Pujols Shows his True Colors

Nothing like a good slap of reality to the face. Albert Pujols is just another example of how there is no loyalty in sports anymore. Albert (bleeping) Pujols an Angel, unbelievable. Hey Albert, why don’t you give Lebron a call and ask him how that worked out for him last year, when he took his game to South Beach. I’m sure all the fans in Los Angeles are doing cartwheels right now and rightfully so. They just signed the best player in baseball. Will you still think that when you have a 41 year old DH making 26 million/year? I don’t have a problem with the Angels for going after him; the problem lies with how Pujols walked away from his team, his teammates and his charities. (more…)

Long Standing Records: Williams .400 Average

While it may not be an official record, I still think it’s worth discussing.

Ted Williams was the last Major League player to hit .400 in a season and it happened 70 years ago in 1941. That year he hit .406.

In some respect it still is a long standing record as no Major League ball player has been able to sustain the .400 batting mark for an entire season since “the Splendid Splinter” did so. (more…)

He is once again in the news, only this time it’s because of his message he delivered as a keynote speaker over the weekend. Yes, “Mr. Charlie Hustle” himself, Pete Rose took the opportunity at the Ohio Justice & Policy Center Gala to declare, should any baseball GM or owner be listening, he would love to manage a Major League team again.

Rose has already admitted he bet on baseball and here we are once again talking about Pete Rose. So I thought this week would be a great opportunity to look at the “lifetime hits king” as this week’s Long Standing Record: Pete Rose 4,256 hits. (more…)
