Derek StykaloSenior Editor

Growing up I had hockey on the brain for most of my life.  In 2003 that all changed and to this day I don’t know what it was, but my love affair with the Boston Red Sox began and what a ride it’s been.  I still consider myself new to Red Sox Nation and to help make up the lost years I’ve completely immersed myself in the history of the ballclub and all that comes with it.

My lovely wife is also a diehard Red Sox fan, which makes our marriage a lot easier, but also, makes her understand my love to follow them and write about them.  Aside from my wedding day, the 2004 and ’07 World Series victories are some of my most memorable days.

During the summer months when the Red Sox aren’t playing I can be found on the golf course, but still find myself thinking about the latest Sox game.

I welcome all comments on any post so please don’t hold back, I’ve got thick skin…..after all I am a Red Sox fan!

Rick Meegan, Senior Staff Writer

Rick Meegan is a lifelong Rhode Island resident. There is no denying his passion and love for the game of baseball. My love for the Red Sox is as strong as my hatred towards the Yankees.  I have always been a fan of the American League.  I prefer the DH.  My idol will always be Brooks Robinson.  My favorite Sox Player is Jacoby Ellsbury.

I enjoy sharing my passion and thoughts on any and all baseball matters.  I encourage your comments and debates.  We baseball fans love to agree to disagree.

Earl NashStaff Writer

Baseball is my life: writing, coaching, announcing, umpiring, reading. I am a registered member of the Red Sox Nation and enmeshed in the team on a daily level, on the internet, on the phone, and at the hardware store. In 1963 I was a Sports reporter at the Syracuse Herald-Journal; covered Syracuse University sports, HS football and basketball; reporter at the N.Y. Journal-American (1964-65), wrote for HOCKEY MAGAZINE.

I took early retirement  [1968-2000, SFSU, English Prof.] to spend more time with the love of my life…BASEBALL ! At SFSU, I was a the baseball play-by-play announcer for the games that were broadcast on Viacom cable.

Since retiring and moving to Maine in 2000, I have coached, managed, umpired, run fantasy baseball teams, and posted often in websites and blogs. Currently I am the Pitching Coach at the local HS and I umpire at the lower age levels. [55 years of umpiring and counting!] My wife, Rebecca, and I live on a small farm (5 acres) and are moving toward maximum sustainability.  I teach her about baseball; she teaches me about everything else.

 Stephanie VanSlykeStaff Writer

I am Irish. I always feel like this explains my love for the Red Sox. In Texas it doesn’t seem to explain anything.
I am no prolific writer but I will tell you this, everything I know about true love, I learned from the Red Sox. I learned what its like to believe in something and it break your heart, nay, not even acknowledge that you loved it so much in the first place. I learned that in life sometimes you strike out, and sometimes you take a chance and steal home. I learned devotion and loyalty and not giving up because there are a few bad stretches. I also learned that I was not alone in this love affair.

All Boston fans are like me. Boston fans are the best of the best. We are the ones that you bring up certain names and we are pounding tables and tearing up like a bunch of overgrown first graders. But this, is true love. So while I live in Texas, and my eyes may never gaze on Fenway Park (oh man they better at some point!) I am a Red Sox fan.

Conor Duffy - Staff Writer

Hey all, I’m Conor Duffy and I just started writing here at BoSox Injection in March 2012. However, I’m not without experience as I’ve written at my personal blog called Sox.Rox for over three years now. I’m just fourteen years old and have been a consistent fan of the Sox ever since 2007. I really love the team though, and feel that I’m too far away from Fenway. I live in the small town of Gloucester, VA– many, many miles from Fenway Park. I’ve been able to overcome that for now, but I’ve still only seen one game at Fenway. I’ve had some bad luck, I’ve been to three games but two have been rained out before first pitch. It’s really an honor to be writing here at BoSox Injection and I hope you like my posts!

Steve PetersonStaff Writer

A lifelong Red Sox fan before there was a “Nation”, Steve grew up in and is originally from Maine. Living in Virginia for the past 20 years has not quelled his passion for the Red Sox, lobster or the Maine coast. When he’s not blogging about the Sox, he works in IT for a financial services company, tortures his guitar on a regular basis, works out as much as time will allow, reads and spends time with his wife of 32-years and two children, 24 and 18 years of age. “A good day is cutting the grass early, hitting the gym, realizing I’m actually in command of my singing voice for the afternoon guitar beating and ending with a cool and frothy beverage..oh, and a Red Sox win of course.”
