Sox-Yanks Recap

Clay Buchholz allowed three earned runs in five innings as the Red Sox went on to lose to the Yankees 3-2. The right-hander also walked one batter and struck out three more.

Chris Capuano and Drake Britton pitched the final four innings. The former allowed no hits, but walked two in three innings. The latter allowed one hit and struck out one for a scoreless ninth inning.

Dustin Pedroia‘s two-run double led an otherwise dormant offensive effort for the night. Aside from Pedroia, Shane Victorino would also double. Grady Sizemore and Corey Brown each had a single.

Next up for the Red Sox is a match up vs the Phillies tomorrow afternoon. Jon Lester and Cliff Lee are the scheduled starters.
