Sox Game In Limbo As Tense Manhunt Continues in Boston

In the aftermath of Thursday’s release of photos and identification of two alleged Boston Marathon bombers by Boston police resulting in a robbery, car jacking, death of an MIT campus police officer and the death of one of the alleged bombers, the Red Sox are watching and waiting regarding their game one status with the Kansas City Royals at Fenway Park tonight as Boston goes into lockdown and a massive manhunt to find the remaining suspect continues.

‘‘We’re just following the lead of the city officials and we have no word yet on what’s going to happen,’’ Red Sox chief operating officer Sam Kennedy to the AP, ‘‘but employees have been told to stay home following the lead of the city officials.

‘‘Players have been told to stay home and stay safe and we’re just awaiting any word like everybody else.’’
