Poll Results: Red Sox should stay away from Cespedes

facebooktwitterreddit

In the latest poll at BoSox Injection asking if the Red Sox should aggressively pursue the services of Cuban defector Yoennis Cespedes, you the voters have made your voices heard.  The votes have been tallied and it was much closer than any other polls we’ve had lately.

A total of 133 votes were cast and when the dust settled, Red Sox fans do not want to their beloved club to enter the bidding war for Cespedes.  52% of the votes were against the thought of the Red Sox going after Cespedes.

While Cespedes is not officially a MLB free-agent as of yet, he has already seen his market start to dwindle.  First reports had the Cespedes party seeking around an eight-year deal worth over $60 million.  The latest now has the Cespedes range to a four-year deal worth around $32 million and more than a few clubs have apparently pulled out of the sweepstakes for the deemed “five tool” player.  The Red Sox are one of those clubs to have reportedly lost interest in Cespedes with talk that they have now shifted their focus to another Cuban defector, Jorge Soler.

As always, thank-you to those who voted.  Check back for the latest poll coming soon.
